IPAM launches podcast with former students to tell the story of marketing through several generations of professionals
As part of this year's celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Portuguese Institute of Marketing Administration (IPAM), the institution is launching a new podcast this month, "IPAM Talks."
With the aim of recounting the history of marketing in Portugal, it promotes the meeting of generations, creating a community for sharing experiences, advice and learning, which encourages networking, giving rise to a strong and cohesive network. "IPAM Talks" will be hosted by João Nuno Calado and João Ferreira, both former IPAM students, who will be accompanied in each episode by distinguished guests, including former students or professors.
The first episode features Susana Coerver. With over 20 years' experience in marketing, communications and digital media, Susana is passionate about unleashing individual and corporate creative thinking through co-creative methods.
Thinking Partner - Imaginner Coach & Executive Mentor (C-level), Managing Partner - YouUp (Coaching & Mentoring), Keynote Speaker and TEDX Talker, João Alberto Catalão, will follow as the protagonist of the second episode. Catalão believes that people are happier and more effective when they act than when they react, which is why his mission is to encourage people to believe in themselves and realize their potential.
The challenges, career decisions, remarkable academic experiences and the way IPAM has contributed to the professional development of these leaders are the motto for the new podcast. The guests for each edition will therefore be former students who have excelled in careers in Marketing, Advertising and Communication, and who will share their professional and academic experience.
"In the year in which we celebrate four decades of history, we wanted to bring an initiative that is relevant not only to current students, but also to former students and marketers in general. If, on the one hand, we want to inspire and guide those who are taking their first steps in building a career, on the other, we also want to cultivate a sense of community, foster collaboration and networking among Alumni. If we add marketers to these, we are consolidating IPAM's position as a source of talent and knowledge in the area," says Daniel Sá, IPAM's executive director.
João Nuno Calado has over 15 years' experience, mostly in digital project management and marketing team management. With a degree in marketing management from IPAM, specializations in digital marketing and an Executive Master's degree in innovation management from the European University, he is now an MBA candidate at INDEG-Iscte. His curiosity guides his life on a daily basis, as he seeks to learn more and optimize resources.
João Ferreira also has a degree in marketing management from IPAM, a post-graduate degree in strategic management from the European University and a certificate from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in Distribution Channel Management. He has been specializing in retail for 20 years and is the author of two books on the sector, as well as the founder of the Retail Podcast. He believes that secrecy is no longer the lifeblood of the business, but sharing.
Each month, IPAM will publish the episodes on Spotify and Youtube and promote them on social media.
